We've been...

...playing with baby Luke via Mama's belly button.  Also trying to nurse a lot lately, but that's a whole 'nother topic.  Oh Nolan, such a boob man!  I predict some jealously when Luke gets here and starts nursing.

...eating LOTS of berries and whipped cream.

...attending more than our share of fun birthday parties at cool venues.

...blowing bubbles in the living room of course!

...dressing up as Captain America every morning.

...eating SO much fruit that we have to go to the store sometimes three times per week to keep stocked.

...READING!!  Jack is reading at around 1st grade level and loves to make a "project" after he reads a new book.  Love half day kindergarten :)

...Writing our last name (phonetically) on all school work now.

...loving Mo Willems books in the library while Mama stuffs the Friday folders at school each week.

...finding treasures at our thrift store.  Nolan loves his new piggy bank toy so much!

...attending so many activities like this Valentine's Day puppet show at our local library.  What a gem of a community library we have!  We have been to a SpaceTime thing, a wild safari thing where the kids got to see an chinchilla and pig and lots of other animals.  Next month is a Chemistry thing that we won't be missing!

...thinking we're way cooler than we are drinker root beer from a coozy like Daddy.

...so busy as usual.  Life is full and good!

Worst Blogger Ever

After all that lapse of time, all I can manage are some cell phone pics and titles...life is BUSY!

[We are looking into finishing our attic!  We are not "basement people," and wouldn't mind having another bedroom and bathroom up there.  Maybe I'll get that bathroom with floor to ceiling tile and an urinal after all for these boys! Still in the research phase to see if what we want is possible and acceptable by our HOA.]

[Seriously, has anyone ever had any luck sprouting an avocado seed? Hmmm...]

[New haircut, with some bangs!]

[From the other side.  Got new makeup (Josie Maran!) and did Davinci Teeth Whitening!  Feeling all sparkly and new :)]

[Even with all the headaches I was having, we got out on this day for a much needed change of scenery.]

[The belly at 15 weeks!  Tomorrow we find out the gender!  Okay this is funny because I took this last week and my belly isn't nearly that big now...maybe I just had a huge lunch.]

[These two are becoming such good buddies! (Now that she finally carries a nerf gun willingly!)]

[I was so sure Warren would test gifted recently that I started some pre-emptive researching, I mean the kid got lots of A's on his report card and has the witt and humor beyond most adults.  Well, he is not.  Not by a long shot.  And chances are neither is Jack, even though he constantly blows my socks off.  "This is 10 bundles of 10 pretzels, mom!  That's one hundred pretzels.  If I did this 10 times, that would be one thousand pretzels!"  All while I made his lunch...]

[Can you guess what we did this morning?]

[The boys loved it!  My cheecks hurt from smiling by the time I cleared their plates.]

[Oh my goodness, this is the shirt Jack was wearing at the hospital when Nolan was born!  How does this happen?  And preschool registration is in less than a month!]

[Jack is the "Star of the Week" this week at school.  I laminated his star after we finished it.  I am obsessed with laminating things these days. :)]

[Mom and Dad snuck out last week for the Kid Rock Concert at the Fillmore in downtown Denver.]

[Jack got his shoes all ready the night before his field trip at school to the Denver Puppet Theater.]

[Our Family's newest addition.  Yes, it really is THAT exciting.]

[I got to chaperone Jack's field trip.  It was so cute.  Love love love that boy!]

[Warren first ever science fair project!  My heart nearly burst with pride when someone asked him what his project was on and he replied "Newton's third law of motion."  He made a newton's cradle out of a shoe box, string, beads and tape too.]

[Such a little stud, that #7!]

[If all else fails when you are taking care of 5 kids, build a tent with a "camp fire" and give them crunchy snacks.  Then you can lay down on the couch nearby for at least 20 min.]

Gotta brag

Because they are only my little guys to brag on for so long, and then their achievements and milestones will truly be all their own.

So...

While I can still take some credit ;)...

{Warren's first spelling test of 2nd grade. I work with him daily on his words in fun ways like writing them on our magna-doodle or aqua-doodle or using our magnet letters}
{Can you see my little guy? At baseball camp last night, Jack was scooping up balls with his mit, setting up and then throwing the ball back. He had so much fun}
{Jack is SUCH a little buddy. He eats everything I cook, like last night's slow cooker chicken that he gobbled up seconds and even thirds of, calling it chicken pot roast :)}

We are taking the "big boys" to the Bronco's game tomorrow. I hate to leave Nolan behind, but it is no place for a toddler. Soon enough, Bryan and all three boys will be going and I will be left behind. :)

And Warren has his third football game today! Go Outlaws!

Friday Phone-fare!

iPhone pics and captions galore!
{Asked hubby to get me a drink on his way to football practice and this is what he chose...hmmm. By the way it tasted awful!}
{Lucky #7! Can't wait for his first game tomorrow.}
{Nolan's best friend let him borrow this toy, it's a hit!}
{But still nothing compares to his plasma car.}
{And he has a new found love of puzzles. Spent an hour at them yesterday!}
{Absolutely adore Warren's second grade teacher! How cute is this?!}
{Why, I ask for the hundredth time, do kids always put their sunglasses on upside down?}

I'll have to scan it to share later, but I got back Jack's beginning of the year assessment for Kindergarten and the kid is already surpassed all the END of the year benchmarks for each category (like letter recognition and sounds and oral language assessment)!  Hopefully I didn't do too much Summer learning so that he isn't too bored!  He is so smart and they have legos in the classroom so he should be okay :)  Gotta brag on these boys!

Life in bullets.

  • Taking ever so tiny steps towards making my litte hobby more legit.  I love portrait photography!

Specifically, my clients now recieve a fancy letter giving them permission to print their pictures, since this issue had come up several times. Also, working on designing a water mark that will be added to digitally displayed versions of my work. And I have taken steps to streamline my editing and the process of sharing the final results with my clients. I have more than enough saved for the Canon 5D Mark III... when are they gonna release it??? So ready!
  • Went ahead and put my Fall wreath on the door and lit a pumpkin spice candle.  Fall is almost here, I can feel it.  Hooray!!  Can't you see the change with the glowy Fall sunlight?  Love!
  • Went to the airshow with the family on Sunday at our nearby airport (where we own a commercial building), so we got to watch from a different vantage point than the general public and enjoy air conditioning breaks too.

Then we continued the party (for Grandpa John's birthday) at our very nearby Quaker Steak and Lube, where Nolan proceeded to climb out of his highchair and fall asleep on the floor under it. Okay then!

  • I managed to lose a couple pounds just in the first week of school, just due to walking back and forth to the school and having a regular eating schedule again.  I want to lose 8 more to be back to my normal 110#.  Maybe that will help my body get back to normal and not have such a hard time getting pregnant.  Worth a try!
  • Speaking of the first week of school, I had become so used to the grueling pace of the Summer with all three boys ALL DAY that I was...bored...at certain points of the week.  Even ordered Jack's 6 year old birthday mailer (his birthday is in December!) and have been cleaning and organizing my home to no end.
  • Not too much else.  I continue to watch a couple of neighbor girls and be active in PTA, so far it is not too much.  We had not one but TWO water balloon fights today, since it was a modified contact day at school.  I have to admit to thoroughly enjoying them both and totally perfecting my technique with filling them up!

Peace out, beautiful people of the blogosphere :)
