Of Mice and Men

A mini-mouse:

To go with my brand new mini laptop (it is 8'' wide!), also called a netbook:

I call it cool. Bryan got it for me since I don't have a computer of my very own now that I am not working outside of the home.

From whence I blog:

AND, I got a new camera too! We have an older digital camera that is so slow and I swear has red-eye on every picture, making my angelic children look like satan's personal assistants. Okay, so I will NOT be writing the ebay ad to sell the old camera, that will be Bryan's job...ya know, since he is the bonafide salesman and all.

This is the camera I got:

Before you judge it as one of those junky toy cameras (don't judge a book by it's polka dots!!), it is 10 megapixels and I mostly got it because I wanted one that doesn't have the lense that comes out since I plan on toting it around in my purse and I am worried that those kind will get broken if the on button gets pushed inside my purse. Almost all the cameras have the lenses that come out so really this cutesy one was a strong contender right out of the gate and the fact that it has pink polka dots and matches my new laptop was only a slight motivation, honest ;)

Crafty update

Check out my latest project! I have been trying to come up with a way to display the boys' art work and such...and since you can't put magnets on the front of our stainless steel refrigerator, I came up with the notion of using clothespins on a ribbon to be able to continually change out the display. I think it turned out cute and Warren is loving looking at all of his art work.

And I'll just go ahead and address the elephant in the room...or rather the elephant on my republicrocs...

Yes, I am disappointed, but I am not one to dwell on the negative. So, it is onward and upward and looking into more crafts...like how to avoid paying taxes under this welfare advocating administration.

Marvelous, just Marvelous

Yeah for me! After frustratingly trying to start my own, I joined a local Mom's Group that I found using www.meetup.com

There is practically something to participate in every day and I have already RSVP'd for a few upcoming get togethers. I am so excited to meet some new friends for myself and the boys. What fun!

My mom is coming from Alaska this Friday! I can't wait to see her and my little sister and show them our new house...oh, but I really want to finish some painting on the main level before Friday and have everything be just perfect :) We'll see if I manage to accomplish it!

Especially since I can't seem to pry myself away from the political news today. John McCain just gave a 'surprise' announcement and it was marvelous, truly I felt like he finally hit one out of the ballpark. All I have to say is:

Yeah! Okay, so I am just having my own private McCain/Palin rally at my house this morning ;) I am about done, now where did I store all the paint supplies?

It's Sunday, eh?

Or is it? I'm not even sure because I worked yesterday at my part time job, which was actually pretty fun, although being on my feet for over 5 hours was a rude awakening to the fact that heels may actually not be my best friend after all.

And now I find myself plunked down in Canada for a business trip with my - ya know -"real" job. This is a beautiful city, actually not too dissimilar to Denver and the weather is great -- probably 70 degrees F and the sun is shining brightly. I am here all week so I will be taking some pictures once I get out and about tomorrow.

The nerve of some people

Dear Rude Lady at the Movies last night,

Lucky for you I am the most non-confrontational (aka wuss) in the universe. Because when my 2 year old accidentally pulled the straw out of his sprite last night at the Star Wars: Clone Wars movie after sitting there like a complete angel for 45 minutes straight and a few drops landed on your arm, your reaction was really worthy of a good brawl. To quote you "OH! This is really unacceptable, perhaps you could move!"

So, being the self-declared wuss that I am, we did just that. And then I ACTUALLY sat their feeling guilty that my 2 year old had subjected you to such an atrocity as sprite on the arm...even though it couldn't have been more than half a straw volume of sprite.

And then, you know what you big bully? This morning at the gym (yeah I go to the gym now so watch out!!) when I was doing a 10 minute warm up on the elliptical machine before my big debut at Yoga-Pilates Fusion class, the guy next to me finished up. He walked over and grabbed a spray bottle of what must be pure Pine-Sol to wipe down his machine and then *gasp* when he sprayed it it came out in a sharp spray instead of all misty and it hit my left shoulder and ran down my arm.

Did I freak out and cause a scene?

Did I jump off the machine and make him wipe if off me?

No, I conducted myself like an adult and when he apologized I accepted his apology and indicated that it was NO BIG DEAL.

So, then the entire time at class each time I did the downward dog and could smell pine-sol on my arm I was reminded of what a severe creep you were last night.

And I would have been frozen there in time feeling guilty thinking that maybe I should have held the drink for him or perhaps bring a sippy cup and transfer some drink into that for him in the future...until I was sprayed with Pine-Sol and realized, nope I am not the problem here. So, I take my apology to you back! And instead thank you for helping me to realize that I really should have asked YOU to move after your blatant over-reaction and display of rude-ness in front of my little boy, whom I am trying to shape into a descent, polite adult.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Not Going to be a Wuss Any Longer Thanks to You

Dreaming...

Infiniti FX35 in Midnight Mocha.

I'm sure if I hadn't been impatient in the parking garage downtown and totally scratched the crap out of the driver's side of my Odyssey I could totally trade it in without breaking the bank...I'm sure of it...

Jerome the Gnome

Anyone that recently got the "little santa invitation" from me for our house warming party...this clarification is for you. It is NOT Santa - it IS a garden gnome, whom you will be seeing more of at our house on Saturday. We are having fun with him at our house in the mean time, putting him in all kinds of predicaments.

"Oh my, Oh dear, not feeling so well here..."

Much better, I feel much more spontaneous and couragous now..."

"To be hanging out with the likes of these blokes..."

"See you Saturday and hey, maybe Saint Nick will be here too!" So sorry if you thought I was hosting a Christmas in July type thing, nope it was just my sometimes quirky taste for what I thought was an obvious garden gnome ;)
